These first 48 hours set the tone for calm, confident days ahead.
Here is the exact checklist we use to make the transition smooth, with zero fluff and everything you will actually touch.
Quick Supply Check
Have these ready before pickup so you can walk in the door and exhale.
Crate + Bed
A wire or plastic crate with divider and a washable pad. Size to adult with a divider so the space is cozy now.
X-Pen or Baby Gate
Defines a safe puppy zone to prevent zoom-and-chew chaos.
Two Bowls
Stainless or ceramic, non-tip. One for water, one for food.
Food
Start with the breeder or shelter diet to protect the tummy; transition slowly later.
Collar + ID + Leash
Flat collar, a tag with your number, and a 4–6 ft leash.
